About me

“My dear, Find what you love and let it kill you. Let it drain you of your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh you down into eventual nothingness. Let it kill you and let it devour your remains. For all things will kill you, both slowly and fastly, but it’s much better to be killed by a lover. ~ Falsely yours” ― Charles Bukowski
Enter the realm of another’s observation. It’s one of boldness, beauty, and spirit. A new universe of the mind direct from Environmental Surrealist Robert Walker.
Born in the small town of Warren, Ohio, Robert is a self-taught artist whose mission is to enlighten his audience of the causes that speak to him most and project his deepest emotions on canvas and in three-dimensional creations of wonder and passion.
The passion of the paintbrush stirred in Rob since his teen years, where he spent many hours configuring murals on his walls. As a young man, he set off to art school, but discouraged by the artistic boundaries set therein, packed his bags and traveled to Europe. Met with the wonder, mystery, and majesty of the countryside, the need to be reunited with his creative side returned with a vengeance, and during his stay he commenced a series of introspective self portraits that proved to be a cathartic boost in the direction of making art a career.
Upon his return to the US, Rob was further inspired by the swamp lands of the deep south which spawned his Mermaid collection where the influence of the landscape is obvious through his use of colors, most of which are green. With technical and whimsical development then came his zombies, animal hybrids, distorted take on Alice in Wonderland, environmental and activist art focusing on apocalyptic visions, and the works that are in progress today. He is also experimenting with three-dimensional figure art as of late.
Currently, Robert is based in Sarasota, Florida where he resides with his soul mate, Kyle. He also sells art at shows throughout the United States during the warmer months during which he lives a nomadic lifestyle in his RV, “Winnie”, which he has painted and turned into one of his largest canvases to date.
Robert’s vision is to create art with a cause that makes people really stop and think of the impact we are all making on the world and also to birth his fantasies. He hopes to not only merchandise original art but to also sell affordable pieces  and other merchandise to a wide audience, which is why he created his online gallery,http://www.RW2Gallery.com/.
